Barbra Banda Leads Zambia To Commanding 6-0 Win Over Egypt
Zambia made a powerful statement at the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2026, cruising to a 6-0 victory over Egypt at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat.
Captain Barbra Banda was the star of the show, scoring four goals and providing an assist as the Copper Queens opened their Group C campaign in emphatic fashion.
Racheal Nachula opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Banda was brought down inside the box, before Banda converted Zambia’s second penalty following a VAR review.
The skipper then headed in a third goal from Prisca Chilufya’s delivery before completing her hat-trick in the 86th minute with a composed volley.
Banda later turned provider, setting up substitute Eneless Phiri for Zambia’s fifth, before adding her fourth goal in the closing stages to complete a remarkable individual performance.
The victory sends Zambia to the top of Group C and gives the Copper Queens a perfect start to their WAFCON campaign.
Zambia will now turn their attention to a huge clash against reigning champions Nigeria on Saturday, while Egypt will face Malawi on the same day.
